If your body needs nourishment you will constantly feel hungry, even if you are full. Drink a green juice and manage the mineral balance. From my book Raw Snacks.

Serves 1-2

A classic green juice consists of:

  • 100g  baby spinach
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3-4 celery sticks
  • An apple or red pepper to add taste

Put everything through a juicer and enjoy immediately.

Mineral deficiency

Too low avitamin and mineral content in the body increases the feeling of hunger and may lead to a greater craving for sweet things.

Green juice oxidises your cells, rehydrates your body and adds the nutrients and minerals your body needs.  At the same time green juice contains far less sugar than fruit juice.

You can make green juices from any green leaf. Spinach, in particular, has a high content of magnesium, but preferably use baby spinach since ‘mature’ spinach contains a great amount of oxalic acid.

Green leaves are rightly often called ‘nature’s medicine’ for the green things are full of chlorophyll, protein, enzymes, fibre, Omega-3 and Omega-6, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
