Start by making the almond milk and then choose the flavour for your milkshake. You can make anything from vanilla milkshake to chocolate or strawberry milkshake, by using this recipe and adding the preferred flavour.

You can also use the almond milk in your coffee or matcha instead for conventional milk from cows.

Makes approx. 1 litre

YOU WILL NEED

  • 20 almonds
  • 10 cashew nuts
  • 1litre water
  • 1 pinch Himalayan salt
  • 5 medjool dates
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower lecithin

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN ALMOND MILK

Soak the almonds and cashew nuts in water for approx. 2 hours.

Blend almonds, cashew nuts, water, Himalayan salt, dates and sunflower lecithin until you have a foaming, white almond milk.

Pour the milk through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag and remove the pulp (which can be kept for trifles, puddings and cakes).

Almond milk will keep for 2-3 days if kept in the fridge in an airtight container or a bottle with an airtight seal.

The recipe is from my book: Raw Cakes. Read about it here
